Spring 2025 Micro-Grant Awards

Brilliance Labs is proud to announce the recipients of our sixth round of micro-grant awards. This round was different than our last five granting rounds since the focus was only on awarding grants to local churches this time. These micro-grants carry the legacy of Central Bible Church by funding churches and organizations that are making a difference in our city, especially among those under-resourced or otherwise neglected by majority culture churches and ministries.

As Is Church

At As Is Church, the belief is that everyone has a name, everyone has a story, everyone matters to God, therefore they matter to us. Their goal is to share God's love with a hurting and broken world. Everyone they come across is their mission field and their desire is to engage the community in every way that God allows. Most of As Is’ outreach is Gresham and East/Southeast Portland.

Brilliance Labs awarded As Is Church a $5,000 grant to be used for ‘Hope Center Homes;’ a sober-living and transitional housing ministry of the church.

Columbia View Church/Immigrant Connection

Immigrant Connection is a DOJ recognized, church-based, low-cost, immigration legal services ministry of Columbia View Church. They exist to provide greater access to low-cost high-quality immigration services in under-resourced communities of the Portland metro area and beyond.. In essence, ICPDX is a ministry devoted to “barrier removal” and “bridge building” -- that immigrants can experience God’s love for them in their area of need and find community with Jesus’ followers in East Portland.

Brilliance Labs awarded ICPDX a $5,000 grant fund their client services.

House of Healing PDX

House of Healing is a church plant located in the NE part of Portland. They are actively seeking to reach their community, specifically the under-churched and un-churched. While the congregation is predominantly made up of African-American people, the church is open and engaging towards people of all ethnic backgrounds. One of the ways they are working to reach and serve their community is by growing their children’s ministry; namely, to get Bibles into the hands of young people and provide various Sunday school classes.

Brilliance Labs awarded House of Healing a $5,000 grant to fund ‘The Family Gathering,’ which is a summer outreach initiative to reach people in their neighborhood through a number of park gatherings and outdoor worship events.

One HOPE Fellowship

One HOPE Fellowship is a multi-ethnic church plant in NE Portland. Pastor Ricardo Barber describes One HOPE as a place where people belong and share talents and experiences - where differences in ethnicities, age, or personality style, enhance rather than divide.

The vision of One HOPE Fellowship is to:

  • Make multi-ethnic Gospel-Centered disciples

  • Create multi-ethnic Gospel-Centered communities

  • Build multi-ethnic Gospel-Centered church plants

Brilliance Labs awarded One HOPE a $6,000 grant to be used for an Easter neighborhood outreach event.

Restoration Church

Restoration Church’s mission statement is to “follow Jesus in love with Portland.” They desire to serve and reach out to vulnerable youth while seeking to faithful focus on and serve East Portland. They are partnering with several organizations and churches toward this end. RC’s dream is to see their church building become a place of refuge for the community where they can encounter Jesus, be engaged in relationship, and invited into flourishing in their God-given identity and gifting.

Brilliance Labs awarded Restoration Church a $4,000 grant to help fund the development of a drop-in center at Rivercrest Church, serving young people in their area and providing a safe space for them.
